• SSC GD Physical Standards 2026 – Height Relaxation

  Some categories of candidates get relaxation in height as per the SSC GD rules. The relaxed standards are different for males and females:

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates get a height relaxation, where the required height becomes 162.5 cm for males and 150 cm for females.

  • North Eastern States (NE States) ST candidates have a lower height requirement of 157 cm for males and 147.5 cm for females.

  • ST candidates from Left-Wing Extremism affected districts also get relaxation, with the height set at 160 cm for males and 147.5 cm for females.

  • Candidates from Garhwal,  Kumaon, Dogra, Maratha regions and from the states/UTs of Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh have a relaxed height of 165 cm for males and 155 cm for females.

  • Candidates from North Eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura get a relaxation with height fixed at 162.5 cm for males and 152.5 cm for females.

  • Candidates belonging to the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) region (Darjeeling, Kurseong, Kalimpong subdivisions) also get relaxation—the required height becomes 157 cm for males and 152.5 cm for females.

SSC GD Constable Salary 2026 

The SSC GD Constable Salary 2026 is given under Pay Level–3, which means the basic pay starts from ₹21,700 per month. After adding allowances like DA, HRA, TA, Risk Allowance, Ration Money, and other benefits, the in-hand salary becomes around ₹25,000 to ₹32,000 per month, depending on the place of posting and the force.

SSC GD Constables posted in metro cities and high-risk zones get a slightly higher salary because of more allowances. Apart from salary, candidates also receive free medical facilities, uniform, pension under NPS, and travel benefits.
